Workshop Overview
Join us for this exciting two-part virtual workshop where you’ll explore advanced sgraffito enameling techniques and learn how to create stunning, textured designs. Whether you’re using a torch or a kiln, this class will cover everything you need to know to elevate your enameling skills.
What You’ll Learn
• Sgraffito Techniques: Create intricate lines and imagery by scratching through liquid enamel.
• Color Application: Explore layering, firescale effects, and under- and over-firing techniques for unique results.
• Metal Preparation: Learn proper metal prep, forming, and counter-enameling for strength and durability.
• Torch Use & Safety: Understand torch options, tip sizes, fuel types, heat containment, and multiple firing station setups.
• Alternative Methods: Experiment with scratching through pre-fired surfaces for additional sgraffito effects.
How the Virtual Class Works
• Zoom Link: A Zoom link will be sent to your email 24 hours before the first session.
• Live Instruction: Participate in live demonstrations and ask questions in real-time.
• Recording Access: Can’t make it live? No problem! The class recording will be available for 30 days after the final session so you can review at your own pace.
• Community Support: A dedicated Facebook group will allow participants to ask questions and share progress between sessions.

A detailed materials list will be emailed to you prior to the class so you can prepare everything you’ll need. This workshop is designed to accommodate both torch and kiln users, so you can work with the tools you have available.

About the Instructor:
Anne is an independent studio artist for over 20 years, teaching workshops and exhibiting in juried exhibitions. Work is included in the permanent collections of: Philadelphia Museum of Art, Yale University Art Gallery, Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, the Crocker Art Museum, University of Arkansas, Little Rock Department of Art and Design Permanent Art Collection, the Enamel Arts Foundation, and numerous private collections.
